STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved through distinct stages, each marked by significant advancements in technology and methodology. The initial stage, Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), focuses on specialized tasks, with systems designed to excel in a single area, such as image recognition or natural language processing. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) represents the next anticipated stage, where AI could potentially perform any intellectual task a human can, demonstrating adaptability and understanding across diverse contexts. Finally, Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) is a theoretical stage where AI surpasses human intelligence, capable of independent reasoning, creativity, and problem-solving at levels beyond human comprehension.
