Abstract

Already in the school of Chicago the overlapping of different population flows in the same territorial context was a central research topic. In particular, Robert Park (1936) elaborated the ecological successions model to describe the process by which «a new group (usually distinct racial or ethnic group) invades the natural area occupied by an established group.
